Broadband guide
Switching broadband
Start by checking your current minimum term, bundles and contract end date. Leaving early may involve exit costs, and a broadband package can be connected to other services.
Ask the new provider about the process
In many cases the new provider coordinates the switch, but confirm what happens to your current service, the planned date and whether anything needs to be returned.
Check compatibility
Landline-dependent alarms, payment terminals and other equipment may need attention. Ask the relevant supplier before the connection changes.
Do not cancel the old connection first unless the new provider specifically tells you to. Keep the final offer, dates and any confirmation in one place.
